    how come the same folks that always say SEC should have three teams in cfp, dont also say the commanders who are last place in nfc east, (but better record than entire nfc south) should get nfc south’s playoff spot

    The nfc south is dreadful. The saints are in last place in that dreadful division.

    The nfl would have to eliminate divisions for “the best teams” record wise to get in. There will usually be a lackluster division winner that keeps out a very good team from a good division that fell short of winning it.

    Even with that, I like the divisions. With that extra wildcard spot, you’ll squeeze in a 9-8 team. You know one of the 4 will make it so it makes division games mean something.
