If our OL can open holes for the running game I think we have a really good shot.

I totally agree; and they lost their last game, at home, to a 4-7 Tulsa team.

    I like our chances.

Houston, mentally, won't be into this game until it's hoodoo late, Cajuns by 17

……….. One thing for sure is that the name situation is still in play and raises its hated head whenever possible….. In NO a local recruiting source always uses the Laf…. the extra L is seen in the Houston alumni….. we need to constantly push Louisiana and UL….. I guess that like after a war, there are pockets of resistance…. it is SO very important to keep the guard up now….. remember the enemies out there are all the other schools in Louisiana and close to the state…. hope that our conference keeps the Louisiana name being pushed!

That's that p6 mentality the AAC boys have. You should see how tu lame talk to Southern Miss. First time they've been relevant in years and already talking like they gonna be in the championship. SMH

You would think but go read the bowl thread on the AAC board. Tulane fans acting like they've been top 10 for a decade and making fun of USM's "small" stadium. Really hope all these AAC clowns lose all their bowls

Actually Cougar fans will be sending you thank you cards to Des for every running play he calls. The Coogs pass defense is beyond atrocious. Against Kansas they gave up touchdowns on 7 straight possessions. I thought this was horrible but as the season went on they were even worse. Against SMU the defense gave up touchdowns on the first 9 SMU possessions. Receivers were continually open by 10 to 20 yards. On the 10th possession SMU tried to establish the run and had to punt . After that they went back to passing and scored touchdowns on the next 2 possessions. The run defense is not bad. The pass defense is very bad. Will be interesting to see how Des game plans. Anything less than 40 pass attempts is a mistake. Last year Miami tried to hire our dc and we gave him a big raise. His stock has fallen a bunch since then.

Well, UL was 6-6 with 3 losses to ULM, USA and Troy that should have been wins putting us at 9-3. Interestingly, we finally get a bowl games an AAC team with our worse record and could only get a MAC or CUSA team with 10 and 11 win seasons. Should be a well matched game, although judging from their boards, many think a game against a Sun Belt team that is 6-6 is beneath them. They won't call us Louisiana or UL, just disparagingly U La La and ULL. Looks like we will have to earn their respect with a solid victory.

Good thing is. Des has coached in a bowl game and won it already. We are playing decent football here lately. I look for us to win this one.
