I met Mike Saab once years ago. He tried to tell me he was better than Johnny H. I got a good laugh.
Would have been the Fall/Season of 1978. Prudhomme, Saab, Padgett, Linden, Edmonds all graduate in that spring of 1979.

Yeah, Saab was a great athlete, and a really good football player. But Hector was an NFL running back. Also remember that Saab ran behind a line that ALL played successfully at the next level.

Yes, Prudhomme as at UL when we played Lafayette HS. John Phillips was QB at that time I believe.

Yes Johnny Hector was a man amongst men... Except for an October Friday night in 1978. LHS comes into NISH ranked #4. NISH #1. J Hector was stopped on a 4th and 1 to preserve a 21-20 LHS victory. The rankings changed Monday morning. LHS 1, NISH 4. Johnny Hector was a mere mortal that night.

T, I think the name of the QB was Tim Anderson. I couldn't remember, had to look at my yearbook.

While success has frequently evaded the lions, there have been a couple of seasons of note since

I think they went undefeated a while back, but had to forfeit some games when a running back transferred in from Morgan city or Franklin, and he wasn’t academicalLy eligible

Faulk and Cahee team in early 2000s was pretty salty.
