...that's the million dollar question.
What are the barriers preventing local top talent from transferring/signing with UL?
- Academic offerings?
- Athletic conference?
- Cajun Field atmosphere?
- Coaching staff?
- Preconceived notions?
Academic offerings are more of a personal decision...but I get it..
I believe the one that hurts UL at least getting more attention from prospects and transfers is the sorry atmosphere at CF. The last 3 home games, there were at least 75 or more prospects visiting....
The only barrier i see is the experience on Saturdays in a P5 playing in front of 90-100k people far outweighs playing in front of 15k people. Make no bones about it our administration has done a good job of providing some of the “other” things that kids want. But playing in front of a packed house is probably what they want. Hell if we had 30k people in the stands every weekend id think that would be enough to lure a diff type of talent here with the “other” things we can provide. Butts in seats is what will ultimately make or break this program in the future.
