Embarrassing.
Covid made people comfortable with staying home, two years' worth.
The ticket drive needed to be the biggest in school history by a factor of ten.
No tickets in hand ... no drive to attend.
I agree completely that the student issue needs to be addressed. In fact, repairing that relationship needs to be the No. 1 priority going forward. That opinion has been communicated to the new RCAF director and he is receptive to the idea that area needs to be a focus. Easy steps are not to police them for minor stuff, give them good seats from the first game onward, and put signs up on campus announcing each and every upcoming game. Surprisingly, the student basketball attendance has improved this season and 2 of the 3 games have not been vs strong opponents. Much of that is due to the basketball players themselves doing promotional work on campus. Football players can do the same in the summer semester and next season.
