No D-1 program in any sport is going to hire a high school coach as a head coach, not even if Hud has become a deacon in his church.

Faust was a legend at Moeller. ND and Akron, not so much.

I know of one school that would have been better off hiring Louie Cook rather than Jerry Baldwin.

    He was not qualified.

    Just comparing the two.

Prior to the 1999 hire, the hire had been demoted twice at his previous stay.

The one you say was not qualified had been promoted once while a college coach.

There is one qualifying characteristic that Louis Cook could never achieve.

One probably could say it’s black and white.

Another gift from LSU…they probably knew the hire was going to sue if fired, just shifted their problem over here.

Someone chose to make that a prerequisite, it didn't have to be. I think hiring a two time demoted defensive coach set back opportunity across the country. Louisiana was one of two at the time.

UNT did it back in the day. 2007. Todd Dodge.

But they really wanted his son riley Dodge to attend.

It was a failed experiment for both Todd, Riley and UNT.

Man...I don't want to be "that guy", but that absolute there is certainly not true at all.
