Thread: Cajuns Basketball

  1. Default Re: Cajuns Basketball

The refs were awful. But regardless of the refs had we hit our shots we would have won. We were down by single digits late in the game yet we were 4-23. Had we hit our average of 40%. That would have been another 27 points minimum. To just be tied with them we needed to make 4 more 3’s out of the 23 we shot.

I was only able to watch a few moments of the game in the first half so all I have to go by is the box score but I noticed that JB fouled out with only 5 points and didn't even play 30 minutes as he's been averaging in the upper 30's for most of the year in minutes. That would tell me that they probably doubled the hell out of him and forced other guys to try to make shots which just didn't go down all game. Any game where JB is held to that low of a score total and you shoot anywhere as bad as we did, I'm shocked we were there at the end.

Without Injury and getting back last year starter Kobi Julien I believe it's possible ..We will know alot when we play at Texas later this year . We should be 11-1 by that time

Kind of. JB got in foul trouble early in the 1st half and had to sit a good part of the end of the 1st. They were double teaming him and we just weren’t knocking down shots.

Richards played well as his replacement but he just isn’t JB. No knock on him most people aren’t.

It was the game he plan most teams with a quality big man will employ. Drake’s center was at Arkansas state last year and knows JB’s game and he is a solid player. Most teams we face won’t have a guy who physically can match up. Drake did. Even double teaming JB with smallerish players won’t work. But when you have a solid defensive big and the. Can double team him he will struggle unless we are hitting our 3’s. If that is the case we will win allot of games.

I like your optimism but it aint happening. I'll take a trip to the NCAA though and hope it happens.

Difference was Devries. We dont't have anyone that can guard him. He put the game away in the first half with his 15. That is where they could have used Kobe. But shooting like we did, was what did us in.

When one can’t read the lines, he probably can’t read between the lines. Just an observation.

I do not disagree with anything you are saying. Just an FYI, there is no Loyola-Illinois. They are Loyola-Chicago.
