Don’t even have one of our starters on the team playing yet . Without injury this team is sweet 16 pre-built.
We are LOUISIANA
Also, great second-half adjustments by coach MARLIN against Drake , too bad the referees didn’t help too much

No matter how hard a team plays, you can't overcome shooting 15 percent from three. Basketball is a simple game at times. The team that puts it in the basket at the highest rate usually wins. You can win at 25 percent from three if you outrebound your opponent, make your free throws, and limit turnovers. We did some things well yesterday but we had too many turnovers to overcome the bad shooting. I understand the frustration with officials. Cajuns did not even get to shoot a 1 and 1 when they were fouled with less than two minutes to go. Drake must have really played good defense to have so few fouls at that point.
Depth is inconsistent but improving. It was a factor in our favor in the SMU win while it was encouraging to see both Chancellor White and Isaiah Richards score a little more yesterday. In the wins against Tech and SMU, Jalen Dalcourt hit some big shots to help pull those games out. Jalen struggled yesterday. Joe Charles is a key guy off the bench as many or our forced turnovers come when he is on the court. His defense helped lead a comeback yesterday but he also struggled shooting the ball. Michael Thomas is the backup point guard. He has had some big plays on both ends for us at times but he has also struggled with getting caught dribbling too much and turnovers as well. We are playing 10 guys every game but as I said earlier, they need to be more consistent with their production.
Folks, C'mon.. Finally played a team with a pulse a got slapped around. I don't want to hear "refs." Officiating is awful, everywhere, around the sports world. The team lost by 12, not 2.
Officiating is not why the Cajuns lost. The officiating may have contributed to the final margin but not the result. Cajuns lost simply because they had a bad shooting game from the perimter. Actually, they had a terrible shooting game from the perimeter. The previous games indicate that was an anomaly. Hopefully that is the case. They were just as open yesterday as in games in which the shots went in. Now, if you want to say they get three happy and should not have taken a few early in the shot clock, I won't argue.
On the other hand we shot 23 three pointers which is the same no. DRake shot. They simply made four more than we did which results in exactly the final margin. Basketball is not like football. If your opponent has an incredibly hot day you will get beat. You will also get beat if your shots rarely fall. You can also pull upsets if you make double figure threes. Our previous opponents have had some success by the way. Tech has only lost to us and Texas Tech while Harvard had only lost to us last time I checked.
Does anyone know if the game against Loyola on Tuesday is considered exhibition? It doesn’t indicate this on our website, but on Loyola’s all D1 games are listed as exhibition.
