Totally different industry. $750k for a first time D1 head football coach is really not that far out of the norm.

I have said it before, this year has been disappointing, but doesn't mean that Des is not the right person for the job. People, including me, underestimated exactly how much we had lost on the field and the coaching staff. The ULM game is the only really bad loss on the season. Yes, some of the other games were winnable, and I think with more experience we on the field and in the coaching staff we may have won them.

The true test will be how much of the young, impact core leaves via the transfer portal. I set the line at 2.5. If we get under that, I feel good that Des has the player buyin and will improve next season.

Look at the salaries. We’re pretty much getting what we’re willing to pay for.

No I won’t. I’ve been here long enough and I have probably forgotten more about this program than you know. Just cause we’ve had schitt seasons in the past doesn’t mean another schitty season is excused. We are supposed to be beyond that now. You said this was a good season. We COULD and probably SHOULD have 8 wins. Yet here we are struggling to get bowl eligible. That ain’t good fool. That’s the opposite.
