"Mid Major" is a never forget your true place term.
It is still thrust on Gonzaga when Gonzaga is #1 in the country.
No media department worth its salt would use the term to describe itself.
Mid-Major is the basketball equivalent of G5.
Only, it is more of a geographical definition of your conference home where G5 is a very real economic definition. It is much, much more easier for a school to be competitive on a major program level in basketball than it is in football.
Therefore, any school that lovingly embraces the Mid Major label is unnecessarily labeling their program as unworthy.
You folks need to give it a break. The SID has absolutely no control over the names of the poles where Louisiana or it’s next opponent, Drake are ranked. Would those appearing here as complainants suggest that at a promising time in the history of the Big Fish’s tenure at Louisiana and with the work and success those that wear the Louisiana name across their chest to compete for Louisiana in men’s basketball this year have had, that our SID chose the ignore button like the weakest of those who call themselves Cajun Fans do here? No thanks . . .
Louisiana v Drake, Saturday, both 5 and 0
Pretty boring press release?
Good one TBine
What's epic about this game?
“Epic” seems like a strong word for this early in the season.
"Epic" has its roots in great poems and or great stories.
Louisiana hasn't been 5-0 in 33 years.
The story of any two NCAA 5-0 basketball teams facing off in any season is relativly rare and always makes for a good read.
For Louisiana just being 5-0 makes for a great stand alone story.
Facing off against another 5-0 team makes this an epic story for Louisiana.
