As disappointing as today was, it was not totally surprising to me. In their last 2 games the Noles had beaten Miami 45 to 3 and Syracuse 38 to 3. That indicates a fundamentally sound defense with lots of talent. I am more concerned about the defense. Gave up scores on 7 of 8 possessions. Some of those had the Noles in 3rd down situations that favor the defense but we could not get off the field. Can they keep any momentum they may have gained in latter part of game going into next week? I have no idea the way this season has gone.
We had no imagination on offense and their talent was just better than our defense.
I remember when 3/4 of this board thought Maggard was a genius for “going right down the hall” and hiring Desormeaux. Same people who once wanted to put up a statue of Napier. It’s comical.
FSU’s last four games:
Georgia Tech 16
FSU 41
FSU 45
Miami 3
FSU 38
Syracuse 3
Louisiana 17
FSU 49
During periods of their last three games, starters were pulled. Couple that with QB1 going down in practice this week, and it’s slightly easier to swallow.
Again, not trying to be a sunshine pumper…we got our asses kicked!
