Don't know who started it, but it was a national thing for awhile. I'm sure USL would crush it today, consider it a fire hazard. Or one of the papers would have a triggering headline.

You better have a high limit on your credit card if you drink a few beers in the Cajundome.

I think its the opposite for Brown. They were forcing other players to beat them by doubling him up the entire game. They did not let him get settled on that block and Lewis has been taking advantage of that while sitting on the opposite block or at the FT line. I also like that we were more balanced scoring wise. We had 5 guys in double figures and they only had 2. Still need to get more from the bench as Brown cannot play 35 minutes a night and we had 3 total players at over 30 minutes. That will catch up to us sooner or later.

Tech was good and played really good defense despite the 94 points we scored.

Difference in the game was rebounding, particularly on the offensive end and turnovers. We had a great night moving the ball and it showed with 20 assists and only 12 turnovers. Rebounding got us the lead with some second chance points and possession extensions.

Fun game to be at, not going to lie. I couldn't believe the number of students we had. I haven't seen that type of turnout in a long time from them and they were loud.
Guys on the team and assistant coaches made an effort to promote the game on campus. That was a factor in them coming out. Students themselves need to be given credit for providing positive energy throughout the game.

So far they are 4 and 0. They have defeated Harvard, East Tennesse, and La Tech. Only losses so far for Harvard and East Tennessee have been to the Cajuns. La Tech has lost tough games to Texas Tech and the Cajuns. Last night's game was a fun one to be at according to most people I talked to. Several hundred students there sure seemed to be into the game. By the way the actual players on the team were encouraging their fellow classmates to come support them in the days leading up to the game. The Cajuns came from 11 down with 8 minutes to go. At that point, the Bulldogs had missed 3 shots from the field in the entire second half. The body language of the Cajuns players throughout the contest was positive despite things going against them at times. When Tech's shooting cooled off the Cajuns owned the glass and were able to pull it out. One statistic should encourage you about their play last night. That no. is 20 assists for the team. That is an impressive number in any college game. Now this does not mean success will continue. Lots of issues have been pointed out in this thread such as the bench needs to provide more support on a consistent basis. I know they will continue to prepare well. How they handle the road will be interesting to see. Sorry to repeat some of what was stated earlier in the thread. However, Bandwagon King may not have seen much of the discussion and I just wanted to catch him up.

For this we should be proud of the athletes who wear Louisiana across their chest on the basketball court. I bet every student who accepted the request is better for it.

Next two home games are on Tuesday Nov. 29 vs Loyola and Saturday Dec. 10 vs Samford. Loyola is not your normal Non D1 opponent. They are the defending NAIA national champions and played a very competitive game against Southern Miss earlier this week. Samford is picked first in the Southern Conference in some preseason polls. They are undefeated now at 4 and 0. Granted they have not faced stiff competition but all of their games have been blowouts. First conference home game is the first Thursday in January. You can now decide if any of these are worth your time to attend.

I’m not sure I’d call the Texas Tech a tough loss. The final score was no way close to the way the game played. Zombie LoTech did some good things but the game was never in doubt

Yes. I agree. And another thing I wanted to add was I really liked the intensity coming from our entire bench area, especially on defense. Players, coaches, staff and managers all yelling and calling out picks to the players etc... Both benches were intense. I don't quite remember ours ever being like that. Everybody was locked in and focused for the game.

SMU will tell you a lot about this team. Definitely a team that we can beat, but will we, and then the Drake.
