The next 3 games will all be very difficult with this possibly being the easiest of the 3 and that is saying allot, because this one isn't going to be easy. Next up is a really good SMU team and then a pretty good Drake team all on the road (SMU and Drake). Most prediction sites have us going 9-3 in non-conference play. They are suggesting a very close victory tonight and then losses on the road to SMU and Drake. They are saying we will win the rest of the non-conference slate with the exception of a loss to Texas right before conference play. 9-3 in non conference would not be bad, the only issue is that our best win will either be La Tech or ETSU. We need to win this game and at least split with SMU and Drake. Looking at the rest of our NC schedule we really should win those games without much question (Two non D-1 games vs Loyola and Louisiana Christian, UNO on the road, Samford at home, @ McNeese). That is why the stretch of these 3 games are huge for us.
Also, I know it means nothing right now because it is only week 1 of the basketball season, but our basketball RPI is #5. Just saying!!!!!!!
Plans for a We're Talkin basketball podcast reviewing the Asheville Tourney and a quick preview of the Tech game are being made now. Release tentatively planned for either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. Note, this is not meant to compete with the RR guys. The more things out there that discuss Cajun sports the better for the entire athletic program in general.
TxSt, and Troy both have nice wins
