Mel, I thought an FCS win still counted as a D-1 win and was acceptable for bowl-eligibility.

Only one counts toward bowl eligibility. Army is in the same situation as App State. Marshall is already at seven wins, so they are bowl eligible. That is why New Mexico State played Liberty home and away a couple of years ago.

Marshall and App should have done a Home and Home in the same season.

Not a bid deal. I appreciate you doing the legwork. It was something I planned on looking at today. I know the SBC has five teams bowl eligible at the moment and will have six after this weekend. But could have as many as eight teams eligible. Not bad for a league of fourteen.

My wish for bowl season is the same as always. 1) - Whatever is best for the Cajuns. 2) - What ever is best for the conference. The best regional matchups possible. 8 would be awesome.

if you have 7 or more having two fcs doesnt matter. Seems worth the risk, if you are 9-3, no one will say they are really 8-3, and you can beat out all the 7-5s/6-6s.

JMU is not eligible this year. 7 bowl eligible teams this year and all should end up somewhere. Miami and Vandy won’t get to 6 wins, so there will be enough slots to go around.

So minus JMU, there are 80 teams at 6 wins right now. Three are still pending at 5-6 (Buffalo, Army, NMSU). Vanderbilt and Miami should be out after tonight.

I don’t think Buffalo and NMSU will be making up their lost games.

Scratch Army. They would need a waiver and won’t get it if it boots another team out.
