I was leaning towards skipping a Holgersen underwhelming bowl game effort but this matchup makes it hard for me to skip. My 2 favorite teams will force part of me to be sad but a part of me to be guaranteed a bowl win. Last year was so good with 25 wins between the 2 teams but disappointing this year. Unfortunately it seems the offensive play calling is questionable for both teams. Hoping for great weather and a chance to have some fun.

If rose bowl or sugar bowl gets a replacement team if the conf champ normally associated with that bowl goes to a CFP semi, (i.e. if michigan wins big ten and goes to cfp, ohio state could replace them in rose bowl, if rose bowl wasnt a semi) why then didnt a g5 champ get to replace Cincinnati in one of last years NY6 games?

Because the G5 is guaranteed only 1 spot in a NY6 bowl. Cincy got that spot.

Sugar, Rose, and Orange have contract with CFP to still get their preferred teams into their bowls. It’s not complicated.
