IceGators had a gator mascot that wasn’t scary for the kids. Get one similar to that and put a UL shirt on him. Or get Russell Heim to design a new one. Call him achafalaya (?) but spelled correctly!

Louisiana has a staked claim is alligator lore that trumps all.

Louisiana has an "Alligator Habitat" in the heart of the campus that goes back to the first half of the 20th Century.

As far as Cajun Basin is concerned. I applied that name to the entire sports complex, I've never applied it to The Swamp.

I don't have a problem with a gator. But the thing can't look like it just came out of the Mr. Gatorverse pageant. It needs do have a ponce, yet be able to dunk a basketball from a trampoline. It needs to be able to carry a T-shirt shooter & hit little kids with T-shirts on the hill, or up in the stands. It needs an e bike it can ride around & harrass the officials, or some fake officials. It needs to be able to doo skits & referee the stupid money games they do at intermissions for the students. IOW, it needs to be a busy SOG the whole night.
