IceGators had a gator mascot that wasn’t scary for the kids. Get one similar to that and put a UL shirt on him. Or get Russell Heim to design a new one. Call him achafalaya (?) but spelled correctly!

Louisiana has a staked claim is alligator lore that trumps all.

As far as Cajun Basin is concerned. I applied that name to the entire sports complex, I've never applied it to The Swamp.
