Service to others isn’t about marketing, thou it can be seen by some that way. For example, I don’t envision the retirement home crowd to show up at any games.

True service is never about the servants, those with a servant’s heart.

Keep in mind, our athletic teams lead the SB conference in community involvment, and its not even close.
I don’t believe this is anything more than getting recognized for doing a good thing. That’s no little thing regardless of the motivation.

My former employer used to get gobbs of praise for community outreach. The outreach was employees being leveraged into giving up a day of their weekend time off to make this regional Vice president look good. Ultimately that’s between him and God. Does being leveraged diminish the labor given by employees. Not IMO.

Hitting up schools and getting the Cajun name out is huge. They talk about it and parents will bring them to games. Getting kids to be a fan at a young age is huge.

Service isn’t about recognition, or bragging about it.

Marketing is about “hitting up schools and getting the name out is huge.” Polish that however you want for your own use.

As someone previously pointed out UL easliy surpasses our conference mates in community service. It's one thing our cULture gets right.

Again, service is not about me, but thee.

They didn't service anyone. They educated students. Huge difference. Reading to kids educates them on the Cajun product and culture. Going to a nursing home or helping clean up after a hurricane is doing community service. Reading books isn't isn't service.

Uhhh, if capturing the kids early is the mission, the kids were there…in the room with the players. The kids didn’t need a social media post to make it real.

Promotion is key. The lack of it shows in the CF attendance.

That’s the only fans they have left 🤣

Those Young kids aren’t looking at social media, make up your mind…is it important to make the kids fans at a young age? Then actually being there with them is all that matters in that regard. Lack of marketing is a separate issue

If it wasn't about promotion UL would never have mentioned that any sport did it at any level.

The whole idea is community goodwill, with as many finding out as possible.
