Wow your quick for 4am haha, figured I could get a quick edit in haha. Just saying quick change is not exactly our forte as a University however our school has shown to be pretty damn fiscal (for better or worse) so I would expect alot of these things to be unveiled and changed after the stadium reno. Just my opinion.

It’s unfortunate that our greatest football success has come in an economic downturn and during covid times, however that is life and we have to roll with it. Either we have faith in our AD or we don’t. Look at our other athletic facilities, top notch....I expect football to be on that level and better. I BELIEVE we can and will get this right. It’s been a rough season but Patience is a virtue, sometimes it takes a little longer to plan for and build great things that will last. Let’s hope that’s the case here.

All that said, yea we need a Championship banner for next season and should have had one in the stadium this year!

No offense my early morning counter puncher, but what in hades does 90% of this post have to do with putting up a 50 dollar piece of cloth that says we actually did what we did? And you are saying we need to win another SBC title so it will only have to wait 173 years to go with the one from last season? You got me feeling warm & fuzzy all over now.

I agree about the banner, I’m just kind of rambling about the general vibe with our hardcore fans and about the state of our football program. I was fricking depressed after the Troy game more so with the apathy of our fans in the area than the scoreboard, but gotta look at the glass half full and can’t just point out the negatives 24/7 either.

Half the excitement of being a part of a school like ours is building more with less! My posts are obviously not just directed at the banner. I’m the first one to point out here all the things we failed to capitalize on after our greatest season, however I do think we are getting to a point where we are doing more harm than good getting angry or frustrated, especially not helping ourselves to get more people on the UL bandwagon train!

I literally went off on a tangent the other day about not supporting UL with a couple coworkers that were discussing the great time they had at the A&M/Bama game. Not the way to get the casuals on board, need to find positive ways.

Going to move on with my day by stating a few positive things:

-Our football team is improving (coaching!!!!!)

-We have some really good podcasts (RR is my postgame goto), never had anything close to this good to listen to for our games! I now look forward to our postgame!

-We have a stable and growing conference and for the first time in
20+ years I’m excited and proud to be a member of the Sun Belt Conference! No more where should we move to talk!!!!!!

    Have a great weekend!

You did the right thing. But here's my beef with the admin. They didn't just miss an opportunity here, or there. They managed to screw the pooch on every single opportunity they had. They didn't take advantage of a single opportunity they had. Now if they were P.O.d by the lack of support for the team at the New Orleans Bowl, then I whole heartedly agree with them. But get on your soap box. Scream at the fans for being ____ty fans & them move on. QUit holding secret grudges against your supporters for years & not having the decency to address the issues with them on the local radio/ social media/ etc.

I know of three guys right now who represent the largest group of fans this school presently has. And I have no doubt they would give them a plethera of air time to air out their grievances with non supporting fans. And allow the fans to interact with them let them know where they are missing the mark. The fans are here & waiting. Where is the leadership though?

I don’t disagree with anything you said. I think our AD has been handcuffed, but I also think we have to remind ourselves that we are a
university that does not have the resources that go to the choosen place east. We have to do things different and unfortunately for us sports fans our school actually puts education first.

No excuses but with NIL, player/staff, administrative losses, covid, etc...I do think they threw their arms up and took a step back. I know I did as a Supporter/fan as well with the kind of offseason we had. I was ranting and raving about how NIL would ruin college athletics. I really think they took a step back to see how the new game goes and pooled the limited resources we have to make a proper gameplan. With that they dropped the ball on all the “little things” and big things like marketing and saved money to see where it should best be spent. Hopefully this year was a great learning experience.

Have to hope they will get it right. We do know they are listening!

    You can't get a banner for $50.

Don’t worry we will honor the 2021 SBC champs during a first quarter timeout of the Rice game in 2025. The banner and stadium should be ready by then.

I could make a quality 3' x 8' vinyl banner that would last 20 years indoors for $50 each, a Letter On Sign

It would be Vermilion 3M vinyl letters on white vinyl stock banner.

They wouldn't look half as good as the printed banners hanging in the IPF, but they would be easy to read.
