Maggard has always said that his goal is to schedule winnable P5 games, and winnable teams don’t pay as much as un-winnable teams. Yes, we could make much more money scheduling Alabama, but the goal isn’t to make as much money as possible. The goal is to put us in a position to win football games.

I think it’s a good strategy, and I’m glad we’re fortunate enough to have a budget that allows us to leave some money on the table to give us a better chance to be successful.

But we’re not scheduling a winnable P5 team. Those type designations are voided when the new 12 team CFP begins before that game. By that logic we just as soon take a million from WKU for no return game.

Kind of a gut punch to think we can't get a H/H with UCF. Sigh....

Getting a H&H is simple as pie, but not if you want cash out of the deal.

I don't mind the matchup playing UCF as an opponent. But definitely not as our only P5. The only benefit is some money. Beating a UCF team that's going to have a losing record in the Big12 is not helping us at all. Come on Dr. Maggard. This is not good enough.

Nothing is ever good enough for you.

I agree as not the ONLY P5.

    Three or more every year.

Absolutely. At minimum, two I think.

Not sure why everyone is upset we didn’t get a home and home deal. I’d bet about 12,000 people would show up if we did have a return game. We should demolish Cajun Field, pocket the renovation money and play every game on the road.

Too many obstacles to overcome to go to the game: inexpensive tickets, Saturday games at 4pm not 6 pm, great weather (but a slight chance of rain), LSU home games, long lines for popcorn, they don’t scan all the tickets, parking, and the list goes on.

I tried to give tickets away and couldn't.

The "would be" attendance is irrelevant.

What matters is the level of competition.

Raise.the level of competition every year for a decade and the stadium will be packed. ... just a side benifit.
