I’m fairly moderate, but perhaps the student paper should also research their contributions to the University, rather than the byproduct of them being born in the confederate south. The world is unfortunately not black and white.

How quickly the infamous locker room video is forgotten. Politics and donors don’t mix. And it will trickle to all sectors of the university.

Seems State put together a committee in 2020 for their hurtful names and crickets since. Maybe T-Joe needs to check that out.

Wonder if Theodore Foster is related to Murphy Foster?

I was planning on donating a huge chunk of money to UL after I collect my Powerball money later this week, but that is off the table now. No way my money will go to any woke organization!

    Ragin' Cajuns Re: Vermilion

Geez, stick to academics and leave the wokeness alone. EVERY word has a rooting in something a person can be offended by. Apologize to every person for nothing you did only makes you weaker. Start this stupid ____ and normal people will refrain from donating.

A critical look at this article.

    Facts presented:
    - The committee was established over 2 years ago (during a time frame when many other universities and municipalities were undergoing similar exercises)
    - The report was submitted to Dr. Savoie over 15 months ago, and yet nothing has happened.

So the way I read that, super woke T-Joe decided not to do anything about this. And now at least one person on the committee is upset at the lack of wokeness and went to complain to the Vermilion in order to drum up support.

Everything else in the article is just a regurgitation of what the report said.

This is a non-news story, designed to get people riled up (on both sides of the argument).

Divide and conquer…the oldest military tactic known to man.

If we are going to go woke, maybe we could change the names of our buildings to a locally famously three letter acronym followed by a number . . . _ _ _ 1 Building, _ _ _ 2 Building, _ _ _ 3 Building, etc., and each of our students, as they complete courses in our buildings would then just #knowitall . . . Louisiana could rise to untold levels of smartness just like that . . . the $6mm question is which 3 letter acronym should we turn to . . .

Iberia Parish, when integration of the school system occurred, changed the name of every school that had a person’s name to the street on which it was located. Therefore, wiping out history on both sides of the issue. A perfect example of this BS does not raise the bar educationally.
