Thread: Post Game Observations

  1. UL Football Post Game Observations

Good: No quit. Passing yardage 370

Bad: 4th down 0 for 5. Running game.

Ugly: Throwing the ball away on 4th down. Turnovers. (of those two uglies, I would trade the first ugly for more of the second ugly)

Very Ugly: A kick ass drive coming out of the locker room and fumble.

What's sad to me is despite the offensive explosion by southern miss, this team had numerous opportunities to take over the game.

If we score right after the interception on 1st play of game (wtf was that playcall on 3rd and 4th down), this is a completely different ball game. Missed opportunity number 2 the missed fg before the half. Missed opportunity number 3 the fumble after the massive opening drive. Missed opportunity number 4 driving again and get usm 37 and get no points. Missed opportunity number 5, we drive 59 yards to get to the 1 and don't score but in doing so we took over 6 minutes of clock (wtf was des thinking with the clock management here)

I'm more disappointed in the fact that the team did not look ready for this game than anything. USM is not a better team than us, they just aren't.

Also I'm tired of seeing these script cajuns, we lose every time in them. Can we just retire them

My coworkers who got their Ph.D’S from Florida are complaining about the very same thing we are. Run up the middle plays, etc. this may be a systemic issue from Napier. I just hope CMD puts his own twist on the offense that is suited for our talent and not force things.

This staff does not yet have a system in place to prepare the team when there are only 4 days between games.

Aside from 2 big plays and a short field, USM didn't drive the ball on us. It was the two big plays that punched us in the mouth and we could never recover. The defense definitely did their job in the second half, but Hudsheen is right. We had chance after chance after chance and could not take advantage. Reminds me a lot of the ULM game. The hoax didn't do anything aside from a couple of big plays and a short field.

0-5 on 4th down. 4 turnovers. 1 missed FG (a big one) and that pretty much equals 10 turnovers.

I though USM did a great job with their scheme and game plan in the first half. We were not ready for that and were forced to press and play catch up the rest of the game. When the defense settled down, I thought we matched up very well and were a tad better. However, "ifs and buts...."

Poor execution, Poor game planning, Poor preparation, Poor tackling. Team was not mentally prepared for this game. OL can't run block. A total embarrassing performance on national TV. CMD should apologize to all of Cajun Nation at his next press conference.... Unacceptable!

Cajuns just played one of the biggest conference games they've played in years and the morons across talk news are talking about LSU&A&MC and the SEC. One of the hosts holds a degree from UL and the other NSU. EMBARRASSING.

I'm turning KPEL off for the last time. I'm officially done with this bull____.

(Not Prather, I'm talking about the news side 96.5)

Same corner got beat twice and a backup safety got beat on Gore’s TD pass. Everything that happened after those 3 plays you can throw away. All game plans were scratched. We had to stop running the ball and they ran a wildcat mostly, just trying to keep the lead.

With a 24 point lead you can blitz and play man. That’s what they did and it worked enough to win.

I don’t understand why WR’s are getting behind our safeties. We’ve been beat by big plays all year.
