Agree. We are stuck this year without a real running game. We lack talent at RB, and the OL is either not cohesive, or just lacking of talent too, and I'm not sure which one it is at this point, maybe both. I personally think we are hurting more at the RB position. If we had someone above average, that could make someone miss a tackle, or with elusive moves, we would have a decent running game. We were fortunate that in the past several years, we had some great RB's. This needs to be a priority in recruiting and I'm not sure the 2 guys Des has lined up are it.
In addition, Ben has a below average arm. He throws with too much air underneath, and without enough velocity to get from point A to B quick enough. With saying that, he is our best QB at the moment. He has too much pressure on him to make plays, due to us not having a run game. He made way too many mistakes last night.
On top of all that, we come out the gate slow and with tons of mistakes. Why? I don't know. If we played from the beginning like we did in the second half, we certainly could have won that game. The defense seems to take too long to adjust to what the offense is doing. Once we do, they look good. They were great in the 2nd half.
We averaged more ypc then usm did. We did or had to abandon the run too early. Which was my key to the game pregame.
