I'm as hyped for a football game as I've ever been today. I'm looking around the social media channels, the radio stations, the digiBoards... Nothing. NOTHING. An occasional reminder that we're on ESPN2 from 96.5 early this morning.

It has never been more clear to me that these people running promotions and marketing just don't have a clue. Don't know the history, don't care to know the history and just maybe don't understand what being a cajuns football fan actually means.

USM social media is DOMINATING the last 72 hours on social platforms. Their fans are making media, the town is draped in ALL BLACK USM stuff. They are ready for the Ragin Cajuns to come to town so they can treat us rudely. I don't see 1% of the passion in Lafayette or from the promotional side of athletics. I'm beyond the point of anger about this. I'm just sad and disappointed. It's a ____ing shame.

Maybe someone should remind the people responsible for drumming up excitement that we're RENEWING A RIVALRY TODAY!! Oh, and it just so happens to be a huge game in the western division standings with championship ramifications!

100% Rock Solid right here. This game can revive a season that commenced rough for the good guys. It can move us from bottom to top besides kicking in the jaw a team that has had our number for years and will now be on our schedule year in and year out.

Pure and simple MAT, UL just sucks at this...you can take all the fancy titles of all the so called talented and qualified people over there at the complex in marketing and digital and fire all of them. Worthless, other than the weekly game videos, but that's only if we win...

RR tried to hint to the video team on twitter that, hey, maybe we need to step our game up with the hype videos this week.. People acted like it was an insult.

It's not enough to just tell people that we're playing. That's easy. TELL THEM WHY ITS IMPORTANT. Especially our younger fans (you know, the generations we're trying to capture for the future of our fanbase when 90% of the older generations pass on and we have a donut hole for support) that we're around in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The entire fanbase needs a visual reminder of how heated this rivalry was. Hattiesburg sure remembers are cares A LOT about this game.

Thank goodness for guys like Jeaux, M$M, Beavis, Esquelleto, Chuck, Tommy, Mr. Butler, etc.. I know they understand what this game means and they'll be out there raising hell. But ____ we can't exist on a fanbase of 10!
