Thread: Recruiting Question

    UL Football Recruiting Question

OK, so I'm an assistant coach at a NWLA high school. This is my first year. Our program has had very little success for a while, but we have some players this year. One specifically plays FS, RB and QB. He's about 6' and weighs about 195. Runs a 4.5. Defense will likely be his position at the next level.
He has around 70 tackles and 7 picks on the season in a tough 5-A district. He's been VERY lightly recruited so far. Would anyone know the best way to get him out there? Tweet videos and tag coaches? Would love to see him in a Cajuns uniform.

What class? Send recruiting coordinators game tape of him, with a player's resume...get him listed on recruiting sites, get him into as many camps as possible over the summer. Take him on unofficial visits, again recruiting coordinator...im sure the others have input as well..

Summer camps. If he’s a Sr it might be to late. If he is a jr or sophomore go to every on campus prospect camp possible.

What is his GPA and Sat score?

GPA is 3.7, and ACT is 21. He's a senior, and the previous coaching staff didn't put much focus on sending kids to camps, unfortunately.

He's a senior, unfortunately. Prior staff didn't do much to get prospects out there to be looked at much. We have 3 solid prospects that are juniors, and I am going to try to get them to as many camps as possible.

Thanks for the info. He's a senior. The ball was dropped by the previous staff when it comes to camps and getting his film out. I'll get some film out ASAP.

    What's the kids name?

  9. Default Re: Recruiting Question

Don’t give the kids name…call the UL athletics football office and ask to speak with coach Myers the recruiting person…. He will get all needed info to you …. Thanks for being a Cajun fan and helping your guys !!

In his situation, don't forget JC in Texas and Mississippi...1 year of JC. Ball could give him the exposure he needs...

Your current head coach should be doing this type of research and work. Seems he is to lazy to promote his kids. He doesn't have the answers to these questions that you are asking?
