Thanks. Figured it would be something like this. RCAF needs to make membership attractive to the younger donors. Many have proposed this or similar…give all first time graduates a free first year of membership within 2 years of graduation. Gives grads a chance to settle and set a budget. Beats the Stanford thing free entry to anyone their last two home games; a quick fix, one sport. Free RCAF to grads can be a long term policy and grow not only football but all sports. But could UL stomach an idea from the RPCA?
These numbers say one thing to me. DECLINING!
1.We need community outreach and ticket drives around the surrounding Parishes. Not just Lafayette
2. We need to set up billboards and banners on light poles, and ticket drives at Friday night football games in the surrounding parishes.
3. We need to make tailgating like a huge festival open with vendors, live music, competitions etc.
4. We need to improve concessions inside and outside the stadium, and come up with a system I that makes it more convenient for fans.
5. Make football games like a social event not just a football event.
6. Build a huge social area in the NEZ with a huge bar/concessions where fans can talk to each other with tables and chairs, and a standing area.
7. Promote game day to students that are on campus and have social events surrounding the game.
8. Time to have family fun day, cheerleading day, or band day to get kids interested in being part of the school.
9. Allow parking in Cajun Field for a fee!
10. Allow single day tailgating spots
This next one is more of a joke so please don’t take it the wrong way I am just making a point.
we have to get the Walmart TankTopper. The Corn Dog Eater!!
I know the administrations won’t do it!! They will continue to blame the fans for not showing up, but in reality it is there own damn fault!
I must be one of two or three in Avoyelles.
It is so easy for people to jump on and off I49 and cruise to Cajuns games within an hour one way from Rapides or Avoyelles. We do it all the time.
There are lots of alumni in Cenla. UL has to find them and engage them.
Athletics bus tour? Billboards?
Noted that Texas is the second biggest chunk of the “where do you live now” pie. I wish someone at the university realized that, or acted on it.
I go with a business outlook a business on average spends about 3% of there revenue on advertising.
That means 3% of UL’s athletic budget should go to advertising.
If our atheltic budget is 34 million 1 million should go towards advertising.
