Great game yesterday. That flyover is something me and my crew used to talk about back in the day. One game, I wanna say 2002 or 03 or 04, the Lafayette Air Show was flying the Thunderbirds, Navy F-18s, we cranked up the Top Gun theme song at our tent at tailgate. Yesterday it became a reality. If I'm not mistaken, those were two F-14 Tomcats if not mistaken. Did anyone get a pic of them? Or does anyone know where a photo of them is. That was BAD ASS. And if anyone knows why they didn't fly center line of The Cajun Field, I'm still trying to figure that one out.

I don't know, but there was a helicopter in the area for some reason that could have had something to do with the approach. It was still pretty cool to see. I think the university did a great job of recognizing the veterans yesterday evening. As much grief as the school gets & most of the time it is deserved, yesterday, they were more than ready for the crowd they had. And the football team's performance made it an even sweeter experience.

I know for a fact those jets had swept wings in the retracted position. They sure looked like Tomcats.

Read they were F-15's from Belle Chasse.

They were F15s. Love the sound. Not as good as the F4!! But for an old Air Force guy, sounded great.

Yeah, they were F15’s. And the Thunderbirds are Airforce. They fly F16’s. The Blue Angels are the Navy group. They fly F18’s.

Your correction is a little off podnuh, I was giving a description of two separate planes 1. Thunderbirds 2. Navy F18s. We all know about those flying groups but im trying to identify the Flyover at The Cajun Field my baw.

UL must have had a camera designated to that flyover. Thats the new pic of The Cajun Field.

I got to see the F-22s fly at the Anchorage air show last summer. What a machine!
