Thread: Jay Walker I love the way you call games

  1. Default Re: Jay Walker is full of it

I'm embarrassed that we have a pxp guy who engages with fans in this regard and talks to them like this. I've seen it on this board and have just rolled my eyes.. but this is just embarrassing. I don't care if the guys calling in are dead right or dead wrong... this is just bad. Is it typical for a schools pxp guy to tell fans how to be a fan? We can't get 20k people in Cajun Field and this is how we treat and talk to fans.. Truly incredible.

The good Jay brings to the table outweighs the less than good.

In geo terms, his Louisiana fandom outweighs his Connecticut normalcy.

I admit I have never listened to Prather's show and had given up on the local sports radio scene due to lack of Cajun coverage; it's been all RaginReview podcast for me this season, however today the BWK drama got me to listen to the radio replay online at work.

I don't think any other school PXP guy does radio interviews like this. I could be wrong though. I don't think they publicly do social media either except maybe twitter. I doubt any publicly do Facebook. Probably best that they don't. I dunno.

Jay probably should not have done what he did and I suspect that he will get a slap on the wrist at his current gig.

Knowing those with which he is dueling, sorry to say I understand.

While I am always for any fan to bring it however they want, in what medium they want, and at what level they want, I am equally for whatever wrath comes their way as they have usually earned it.

MelRock has a weekly podcast with a Play by Play guy from another school.

    Some of them get around.

I personally like when Jay participates in the fan stuff. Think of all the content it generates..

What occurred today is probably the reason they don't & while I am being highly critical of Jay about this particular subject which has been eating at my craw for years. I do respect & applaud the guy for at least going out & cheering on the program his way. But the fans are not the enemy of the program. Unfortunately the attitude that Jay has toward the fan base is prevalent throughout much of the university structure. Ever since the first time set foot in the alumni hall at the school, I could feel the disdain & lack of trust by the blue bloods toward me back when nobody knew me from Adam & the circle of influencers at the school was maybe 25 people? That same mistrust is still as prevalent today as it was when Ray was running things 30 years ago.

I thought it started to be broken during the Hudspeth era, but that is gone & things are right back to where they always were. Unfortunately, I don't think it's ever gonna change in my life time. I've learned a lot about why most of the people on this site hate the place across the swamp. But they need to check out the enemy within the structure & where their loyalties lie as well.

You are the cancer which has brought things to where they went today, so don’t think anything you have done is a good thing . . .
