Probably, in my humble opinion, the most astute post you’ve ever made. Ironically, on a Tuesday.

At the same time, music got pretty crappy during the disco era, which allowed bands like Toto shine.

Went to see these two several months back at Smoothie King. Toto was better than Journey IMO. Without Steve Perry, Journey is a knock off band. And you would think they could come up with one new song in 30 years.

This is a pretty absurd statement. Toto was good and succeeded only because disco was crappy. Haha. I guess you would say the same for the Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, Steely Dan, Aerosmith, The Ramones, Tom Petty, Styx, Boston, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Heart, Doobie Brothers, Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, Van Halen and many, many more.

I saw Journey twice in the '80s. So I will be passing on a $75-100+ karaoke band. I know some bands changed the lead singer, who is good still, but I could not tell you one song the new Journey sings that is not a Steven Perry song.

My opinion of Toto is they are one of the most overrated bands of all time. I know that is not a popular opinion, and some will want to fight me. But I am a lover, not a fighter.

After seeing Toto live, I can tell you I never thought of them as a great band, but they put on as long of a show as Journey & every song was really good. They did have a couple of new songs & they were really good as well. I was surprised. But you're straight up on the Journey take. Journey was one of my favs growing up. Not so much now.
