While some members have moved on (as is the case with most bands) others have passed away. I guess being in a rock band is "Life in the fast lane" and it catches up with them.
Get back to me when **NSYNC has a reunion tour.
Saw Journey twice in the 80’s also. On one of them was hit by a drunk driver in head on collision. He was so drunk he was on the wrong side of Evangeline Throughway driving with his lights off.
Missed the balance of my semester at Louisiana . . . 29 days in LG with compound fracture on left leg and dislocated hip on right. All professors except for my major gave my grades w/o taking finals . . . major was a progressive course and professor wanted to make sure I learned ALL the material . . . he was right
Let's fight! LOL! Look at the credits on many, many albums of other bands from the late 1970s. You will find that the members of Toto, Steve Lukather, David Paiche, Jeff Porcaro and Steve Porcaro were studio musicians and played on the albums.
Albums by Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, the Bee Gees, Seals and Crofts and literally thousands of other songs.
Jeff Porcaro was a master drummer. Lukather played rhythm guitar on Michael Jackson's hit, Beat It. Eddie Van Halen played lead. Bobby Kimball's voice was incredible.
So, overrated? Mel. We're just going to have to agree to disagree.
all interesting stuff
Jeff Beck has been one of best guitarist in Rock history and has been on many other artist albums. His band was never great to see in concert. Jay Giles was another great studio guitarist and his band wasn't great either in concert.
Sad to hear Dusty Hill passed away today. I'm glad I've seen ZZ Top 3 times in my life.
These concerts are akin to seeing Rush w/o Peart, Van Halen w/o Eddie, just to name a few.
