Billy getting a guy who couldn't hack it at the next level over his last coach is supposed to impress me & make me warm & fuzzy about the guy? My opinion of the sucksess of this offensive line is based on the facts that this offensive line is being asked to do things they simply cannot do. And instead of finding other things they can do & attempting those things, they are going to choose to beat the wall with the old cranium until they learn how to do the impossible. Now, isn't that special church lady?

So you say the ingredients are the reason the recipe sucks. Well, who was responsible for shopping for the groceries? Either way you defend your buddy, he is still responsible for the most obvious worst part of this football team's performance.

When the field goal kicker is shaking his head at the offensive line & you can read a big puffy cloud over his head that reads,"Man, I wish these guys would pick up the pace. they are killing us." Then you know. I know. We all know. And if the only solution is to shoot the mules pulling the plough. Then you just as soon shoot whoever's riding the plough & bought the mules, because it's at least as much his fault as it is there's.

Billy got Rob Sale back and took Darnell Stapleton (former NFL player/ our assistant OL coach last season) with him to Florida

I don't know if it was Billy or Rob Sale, but they seemed to have a knack for identifying and developing oline talent. At least at the college level

Seriously, I do have distinct memories of NFL coaches (whose personel changed) stating they were going to have to simplify their scheme if they ever hoped to get any better.
Bum Phillips was a genius. And this was the genius of Bum. If you can't get better players, then you have to get the players you have to play better. How do you do that? You put them in positions to play better. You can't teach an NFL blocking scheme that takes years in the league for every single position to master to be able to work as a unit on the line & make a bunch of 20 year olds any good at it unless you have ten hours a day every day to train them like seals. A coach who is worth a damn should already understand this complication & figure out another way. And if he's any good, he should be able to scrap his old thing & start new thing & he would be amazed at how well these guys would pick up on it since that's what they've been doing since Pop Warner league.

We should either put the O line on a Lima bean diet or the Cajuns should hire BWK as o line coach.

    Maybe we should do both.

    Maybe we should do neither.

    What you guys say?

Genius? What was Bum Phillips' record at New Orleans?

What got Bum was what gets everybody sooner, or later in the coaching business. Loyalty to a person who doesn't have it over loyalty to the good of the team. That's why he said,"You got two kinds of coaches. Them that's been fired & them that's gonna get fired." And if this coach don't get his head from where the sun don't shine & recognize that there's a solution & start using that solution real soon. Then I have a pretty good idea he's gonna be part of the latter.

He was such a genius and yet he made the same mistake you are claiming CMD, a 1st year coach, was making with Chandler. Do you even think about the silliness you post?

If UL just now found a QB ... what's to say there isn't still a solution for the O-Line?
