We have been one of the most diverse campuses around for over 50 years.
Why do we need to fix something that is not broken?
It’s all part and parcel of the woke nonsense. It’s not a coincidence that we have Columbus Day sharing the spotlight with Indigenous Peoples Day. It’s not okay that corporations are diverting investors hard earned capital to invest in things counter to their liquidity and well being. It’s not okay to toss out traditional English for diversity sake. That’s on T Joe’s watch.
Divide and conquer, oldest military tactic known to man. Hard to unite when differences are pushed.
“I feel like coming to a privately white institution and just having that group that like not only looks towards black students but tries to help them and guide them to the right path."
When did we become a private university?
Very poorly written article. The sentence immediately preceding the quote Scotsman posted is, “KATC asked students how they feel about diversity on campus, and what organizations they are apart of.” The next two sentences are quotes from students. Neither indicates being a part of any organization. I am curious what specific question on diversity on campus they were asked. If I had to guess, I would think the quoted student was trying to refer to a “predominantly” white institution (PWI) and was either misquoted or was just trying to use a term for non HBCUs and got it wrong.
I’m sure this article will be heavily dissected. With it being littered with such lazy “journalism” and lacking any real substance, I’m not sure it’s really worth that time.
…..I remember telling kids that LSU meant Let’s Segregate Us….which was quite true for many years!
“Well, I could be wrong, but I believe diversity is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.” – Ron Burgundy
All I know is that in the early 80's computer science and high math classes, English was a second language to many in each class.
I believe that along with the number of blacks and women enrolled, we have been for a long time one of the most diverse around.
