If I’m WKU/MT…I’m on the phone with the MAC. We all know what MT pulled, with the MAC, but maybe they regret it.

I am sure they would regret their actions. In what parallel universe would any school want to be in that dumpster fire of a conference? (maybe Tarleton State?)

CUSA appears to be pulling names out the hat. Then again, JMU was probably the last strong prospect in the South that is actually ready. Guessing W. Kentucky blocking E. Kentucky from their conference.

Can’t help but wonder just what happened to Missouri State? They have so much potential and a CUSA invite waiting for them.

It’s understood Missouri State declined an invite to CUSA back when SHSU/JSU were added. They did not see the value in CUSA.

Well, when we go to 16, they should be considered.

Gosh, can’t we (SBC fans) just be content and let someone else be the stepping stone conference? There is nobody out there that adds value. It’s bad enough once Marshall and JMU got in the SBC, a few of their backers were on the belt board advocating adding more. Didn’t we learn, sometimes less is more? There’s nobody out there in a move up position the SBC needs. Let CUSA and the WAC bear that weight. The MWC will be like CUSA when the PAC12 rips them apart. Be content conference wise, improve our own (UL) back yard.

10 teams add some protection if more teams leave. There are potential 2 teams looking for the exit right now.

Every G5 is looking to leave. The SBC pasture is the best right now. In ten years I would not be surprised the SBC East leaves as a group, and end up being the old SoCon with FBS status. We need to be content yet ready.

The PAC will be raiding the Big-12. The Big-12 will be raiding the MWC/AAC/SBC. The ACC will be raiding the AAC. The SBC will be looking to scoop up the best available at that point. All I am saying is Missouri State should be considered. They have nice facilities. They have solid basketball/baseball programs. If their football can improve, they might be worth an invite.

It's funny. I remember when we added App and Geo Sou. I was thrilled. Many here sounded like you about how the SBC shouldn't be a stepping stone. Same was heard when we added JMU.

Adding schools with solid foundations that are excited to be here is the secret to winning realignment. If Missouri State fits that model when we expand next, you better believe we should add them before schools like Rice that would be holding their nose the whole time they are here.

    FIFY…

Let the other conferences you mention start ripping each other apart.

I’m an advocate of getting ourselves in the best shape program wise, especially infrastructure and marketing wise yesterday. Be the best SBC program top to bottom. If we get an invite anywhere, let’s be ready. It’s like life, be your BEST and BE READY, for we know not the hour. We’re SBC middling, we can do better.

The PAC 12 isn’t raiding Big XII IMO. There’s nobody in the PAC 12 that adds to the BigXII except possibly Colorado and Utah. Nobody is watching Pacific time zone football. I actually can see several
MWC teams adding value to a depleted PAC 12.
