Thread: Who's the Freaking Genius?

    Default Who's the Freaking Genius?

That thought it would be a good idea to close all gates entering Cajun Field, except for one, between 1:00 and 3:00 PM on a game day with a 4PM start? I arrived at gate 3 at 1:20 only to learn it was locked. For those who don't know gate 3 is the main gate that lots A,B,C and D enter into Cajun Field from Congress. The RCAF lots. The athletic donors. Because of the gate closers Congress became a parking lot from Cajun Dome Blvd to around Bayou Shadows apartment. The only gate that was open was on Bertrand that you had to turn right into CF heading north. After being rerouted from Congress to Johnston, to Bertrand, Bertrand became a log jam from Congress to Albertsons. Needless to say I got to Gate 3 at 1:20. I did not get into my parking spot in the C lot until 2:40. Sat in the traffic jam that whole time.

One quick observation is there were in the neighborhood 20 to 30 uniformed officers in the area. Why didn't they see the traffic jam and get at the lights and direct traffic to keep it flowing? In stead they just let people sit and the regular light cycles were the only thing directing traffic.

It’s amazing how much traffic one can create with a couple of gates and a traffic light.

So you are saying they made it just as hard for paying parkers to get to their spots as the freeloaders? ULMH hard at work doing what they always do.

I arrived at Cajun Field around 1:45 and I also waited for almost an hour in traffic with my grandson. Was told by the officers that we could not enter the Gate C due to the homecoming parade. Traffic was backed up from Gate C all the way down South College past Raisin Canes with no explanation or information of what to do or where to go. Perhaps one or two cars made it through the light at Bertrand each cycle. I am sure some people enjoyed the later parade but I can tell you that decision was a disaster. To close most of the main entry gates at a prime arrival time is unnecessarily frustrating for your fans. If people wanted to go to the parade they could go to the parade but don't make it impossible for your football attendees to attend the game. Poor planning and terrible execution.

I got to entrance off Congress to park in C. Some backup with crowd but entered with no difficulty at about 1:25 pm. Don’t know what you experienced. Assumed Bertrand would have issues with parade. Strange

Only gates 1 & 5 were supposed to be closed at noon.

Sheriff's post left those gates to direct traffic at Fatima....

I am not sure which gate you are referring to. I can assure you Gate 3 where I have entered the RCAF lots since the RCAF was founded was locked with 2 officers standing in the front of the gate.

If they really had 20k and change it’s a miracle with a debacle like that. This place never ceases to amaze me. It seams like the just get better and better at being inept.
