Most students don't think about following our social media sites so they are unaware of what is going on at times. They also don't read conventional newspapers online or with hard copy. Perhaps we should introduce which social media sites cover our teams in freshman orientation. I just wrote too many words to simply recommend we should use old fashioned methods to get people interested. Simply have signs promoting every upcoming game on campus. If time would permit, have players hold those signs with their jerseys on come Thursday and Friday. Players may not have the time to do this but perhaps all the extra staff members for football we now have could be handing out flyers promoting the upcoming game to students as they change classes.
Well, as a father of a couple of non-UL students, I can unabashedly say that they get the VAST majority of their university information from social media. They are oblivious to information posted in dorms on bulletin boards. It has to be something extremely unique to get their attention.

It's an easy solution.geo fence 2 miles around campus an CD boulevard.anyone entering the fenced area are served digital messages about the next home game.student friendly message. And the next 2 games need to be 6p starts

Why should we even have to do that?

I am just happy Des, coaches, and the team are winning now again. People can either join us or not. We have a good hard core 15K-20K fans that always show up. Lets Geaux! Stadium renovation needs to get done ASAP to make the atmosphere look better as the look is everything nowadays. The admin has tried alot to be honest over the years. Bryan Maggard puts his heart and soul into this athletic program. Lets just keep doing our part as most do on this board.

More than 15K needs to show up to generate more money for the renovation.

Absolutely. Simple tweets, instagrams and tic-tok posts don’t cut it with Gen Z. Has to be unique to the receiver. Wife is in sales, same applies to her world.

Agree. Just pointing out what we have all known is our hard core is 15-20K for years. The extra 10K that we sometimes get is the ones we need to show up. 25k-30K is our number which will be what the new stadium will hold in general attendance to make for a great atmosphere and create the basic economics of supply vs demand.

Have you noticed that crap hole on the other side of the river? It was built in like 120 AD? It's no monument to modernization. And it doesn't have any ammenities this place doesn't except better facilities for the filthy rich,or the filthy pretenders.

The only thing that stadium really really needs is a posh replay board & a better better sound system. Not louder, but better.

Can you imagine a bigger video board that still doesn’t show replays? Lol

Trying to get college students of today, who have no personal childhood connection to Cajun athletics, to attend games is tilting at windmills.

The Ragin Review guys spoke about this. We have got to focus on the youth to fix this problem. We need to invest A LOT of resources in building a permanent fan base through an extensive outreach program.

…….I asked some folks about the App St game on TV this week….great crowd, the kids pumped, cheering and yelling…sorry but our student body doesn’t care…add to this our alumni that never did get excited as students……the LSU thing is cool, even when they are not the top ranked team in the state in football and we are in the top 20……rips my gut for the kids!

    Ideas:
A game float and/or booth at the Rice Festival promoting the 4pm game.

A Louisiana booth at Gulf Brew (or whatever festival is happening that weekend) promoting a "Continue the the Party" at The Swamp promo.

A Louisiana RC float at every high-school homecoming parade.

    Repeat at every festival available
