Stick with the stacked Ragin’ Cajuns because that’s the brand we’ve been building, especially during our winning.

Script Cajuns for every homecoming game as a new tradition. Hopefully with throwback merchandise available.

Louisiana needs something besides a stack that points in opposite directions.

A schizophrenic logo might explain everything though.

If we stay with just Cajuns, then there could be some drama from the left. In fact, there was some belly aching about Ragin Cajuns back in the mid 70's as being a reference to only 1 race. True fact.

You know he could be right . . .

    Cajuns is race agnostic.

The name Cajuns wasn't used till 100 years after the area was settled.

And that’s why we don’t have a mascot. One side, it isn’t inclusive. Another side, we don’t want a cartoonish character representing Cajuns. Been like that for years. So USL rolls out a hot wheels logo, a pepper then nothing. Another side, lost opportunities to connect with young fans and make future donors.

There was some belly aching in the early 90s from a student who claimed Ragin Cajuns was racist because Ragin spelled backwards is close to a well known racial slur. I ____ you not.

Which is why "mascot" is the wrong angle and "spirit leader" is a good fit.
