Women's Basketball Introduces Free Admission to Home Games

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Department of Athletics has announced that admission to Women's Basketball games at the Cajundome will be free beginning with the 2022-23 season. This approach has resulted in noticeable attendance growth at both Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball and Soccer home events.

I hope that free admission does result in increased attendance for WBB, like it has for volleyball. However, I am not sure this will result in increased revenue since the CajunDome controls concessions. Maybe that contract can be renegotiated.

Contract with Sodexo is up for rebid at the end of the year. However, it’s with LCG and the University.

If that is the case, the university needs to start getting a cut from Dome sales. I have been told that in the past they did not. Dome apparently needs those funds in order to operate.
