Thread: Air Raid Now!

  1. #1

    UL Football Air Raid Now!

We have run game issues to say the least. We have 2 capable passers. We have a plethora of WRs, TEs and a RB in Smith who can take a dump pass to the House.

It’s not time to fire coaches. It’s not time to hit the panic button. It’s time to hit the Reset Button.

    Air Raid Now!

Lots of WR, TE, RB with brick hands.

Answer me this though CN: we run the air raid. start a game off with 2 straight TD drives and then bench the QB. How does that impact the momentum of the air raid offense?

Well Mr Zeppelin, if your goal is to become the best at execution of an offense, it would make zero sense to do that.

And we’d win running it up the gut? LOL
No offense (pun intended) but we need the passing game to open up run opportunities. No particular insight. Just a fan. Saturday can’t get here quick enough.

a passing game and a air raid is not the same thing. we need the passing game to mature. but we really need to find 5 guys that can push the opposing dline off the ball. it is our no. 1 biggest problem right now

Agree that the line is the biggest issue.

    No disagreement in this.

The best offensive scheme in college football is coastal Carolina and it isn’t even close… it isolates players all over the field and tests the discipline of every team… there offense is an equalizer to help bring superior opponents to their talent level and give them a chance.

Yes. Let’s keep trying to push that square through a round hole.

What he said. The OL needs to get better quick or we won't win many ( if any) games the rest of the season.

So we’re going to install a brand new offense and philosophy this week and just roll with it the rest of the season?

    That should work well.

Doesn’t have to be that way. I’m not saying we try to install Leach’s playbook today, but we need to focus HEAVILY on a passing game that can move the chains.

There are formations and routes of the Leach offense that would work for us. We can tailor our current playbook a little each week for this.

It’s more about finding an identity. Shifting focus. This can be done.

Once we make them respect it, you’ll see some runs get popped…and the train will be back on track.
