Duane Bailey, whose career in athletics administration has spanned the Big East Conference, Atlantic 10 Conference and National Football League, was selected by Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard to join Louisiana's senior leadership in the role of Deputy Director of Athletics and Chief Financial Officer in November 2018. Bailey’s responsibilities will include oversight of the department’s Business Office, Human Resources, Equipment Room, and Facilities & Event Management operations. He will also serve as the sport program administrator for the Women’s Soccer program.

In addition to his duties within athletics beginning in August of 2020 Bailey increased his role at the University by assuming oversight of all campus auxiliary units including Property Management, Retail Operations, Transportation Services, Continuing Education, Campus Food Services, the Marine Survival Training Center and KRVS Radio 88.7FM.
Quite a list of responsibilities to handle remotely. I hope he also isn't above RCAF. Bolded two of his responsibilities many have complained about lately (Barnes & Noble outsourcing and Sodexo)

I think UL was using Sodexo before he arrived.

The solution is so simple when you really think about it

Then he’s the one who renewed the contract? Not good.

I heard the same thing. Covid 19 mandates are over. He has two choices. Move to Lafayette or take a final paycheck. No more excuses!!

    So simple it hurts. II

I’m not sure of the timing on the latest renewal. I know Aramark was also in the running because a family member was with Aramark at the time trying to get the contract. The thing to remember is that the contract isn’t just for athletic facilities, it’s for full campus food service.

RCAF misses on a lot on "new money" in major regional markets, such as Atlanta, Houston, & Dallas.

There are more 20 & early 30 year old grads making $100K plus salaries in those markets.

They would rather give $1K to UL, as compared to Uncle Sam. They can't make every home game, but we should make it an event when the Cajuns play in Houston, Dallas, or Atlanta.

In 10 short years, those same UL kids are promoted to leaders in their organizations or they have well established business relationships in their respective markets.

Our friends created a health care start up in Nashville, TN five years ago. This past season, they were recognized by LSU and invited to come sit in a suite at a home game. These are the efforts that count.

You have a large pool of young grads, but UL(RCAF) seem to ignore the small guys dollars.

This conversation is dead on. What purpose is RCAF even serving? It seems like a captainless ship drifting at sea.

I’ve been an RCAF member since 2010. 2 years ago, RCAF stopped mailing out membership guides to investors. This guide included letter from the RCAF director, detailed annual financial report, academic & scholarship amounts, capital campaigns, comparisons peer institutions, and more. Can we go back to being transparent and including investors in the fundraising process?

Hired in 2018 and increased his role in 2020 and we've never heard of this guy? His resume is impressive, but he can't function effectively in a remote location.

Admittedly out of spite, when I chose to get my refund for the Covid season and had to endure the runaround for almost a year, I decided to not renew my season tickets and subsequently ended my $100/month donation to RCAF. Both things that have been on autopilot for over a decade. No question as to why. No attempt to lure me back in. Just a "got it" and hung up the phone. You need people working for RCAF to care and I haven't seen one that does for quite a while now...
