So you if Louis lives to be 12 and Anna dies at 6, then would have to replace the other one with a 6 year old rather than a small dog. Financially it is not the best option because theoretically you would want them to live as long as possible and be close to the same age the entire time they are together (full grownish). You would not want to purchase an older dog to match the older one you have if it is not going live out its full life with you.

I was in SGA back in the late 80's and early 90's and we discussed this exact thought. I wanted 2 bulldogs and was quickly informed why that would not work. Now the real option would be 2 Alligators because we have the availability to use Alligators here on campus or through the Wildlife preserves.
I prefer we do not use live animals. I would rather people dress up in costume. Live animals can cause issues. Just ask folks to the north.

Sorry brother, the cayenne chilli pepper is later (gone) b/c somehow, someway, somebody was allowed to make a flaming dildeaux rep Cajuns Football.

I never said to bring the pepper back, it was used as an example of why red won't work.

Before Martin Hall blindly went with the pepper, Ken Ardoin saw a rendition and tried to stop it by declaring "This will be our penance on earth."

Rear note: Spirit leaders can't afford to have a tail.

Some drunk trying to be funny will pick on the tail.

Some toddler will get knocked down just by turning around.

    Long snout, no tail.

A real gator with four handlers like the Colorado Buffalo or Bevo would be so sweet. I mean Florida can have those stupid fake gators, well have the real thing. Put them back in Cypress Lake after each game.

Name it whatever you want to, I don’t care.

Feed those gators whatever mascot were playing that week…chickens will take care of most opponents.

Cannot have fan interaction with a live gator. Pretty much every live mascot has a character roaming the stands.

We think it solves plenty of our mascot problems. Classic, Cypress Lake ode, retro outfit, UL shirt, Louisiana flag. No worries about offending anyone with a Cajun Man. No generic look. No animal to maintain. Curious of how y'all think about this.
Why would we want to be a 'mini-me' to Florida? They aren't going to give us 'The Swamp' trademark back either way.

Big 12 has hand signs... so we have to have one, too. UL's, of course, is AmSLan for "I love you"... sure to strike fear into the hearts of big, burly linemen.

A lot of schools shoot a cannon after a touchdown. We need to imitate that.

A lot of schools and teams play loud, obnoxious music all through the game. Never mind that our fans will yell louder without that noise drowning us out, we have to imitate the big guys.

Oh, and the Saints. They're a pro team, we need to imitate them.

It never stops. There are some people who think the way to look successful is to imitate the successful, and just pretend you're successful. The subtext to that is: "We aren't smart enough to develop our own style."

In contrast, there are those who think that the successful go their own way, and design their own traditions. There are those of who believe that our people are just as smart, as innovative, and as creative as...

    "Anyone."

    "Anywhere."

    "Any time."

And we can prove it: "Ragin' Cajuns."

Or how about: "The University of Louisiana."

Or even: "The Swamp" (which some of us begged the admin to trademark).

And don't forget: "Geaux" (which some of us begged the admin to trademark).

    Etc.

    "Better one's own path, than another's well-made."
