I don’t care Cajun Chicken or Gator. Personally I like the chicken, but just choose one and be done

Maybe in the Albineaux roll out we can have him eat the Cajun Chicken . . . What a nice handing of the baton

I think the concept, being that we have the most unique name in college sports (Ragin' Cajuns) and then a unique actual mascot with an albino Alligator.

The other thing I would do is immediately I would copywrite "DA SWAMP or LE SWAMP". Not The Swamp, but Le or Da Swamp for Cajun Field. Florida can then have "THE SWAMP" and we would take "LE or DA SWAMP"

Le would be for the French reference and Da Swamp (for almost a Cajun French interoperation of the Le Swamp).
    ABSOLUTELY!!!

Gator is 100% better than Cayenne. I hate sharing a mascot with Florida though, even though it'd just be a mascot.

I see catahoula dogs thrown out which would equally be cool, especially with a fleur de lis collar and shaded red like this old school bulldog logo:

This is going to be a fun thread!
Let’s go all out and get three macots. The Louis and the Anna something like with picture at the beginning of the thread. Let’s keep the chicken because it’s lovable. The Louis and the Anna can do the rooster dance around the chicken.
I’m laughing so hard I’m crying.

We think it solves plenty of our mascot problems. Classic, Cypress Lake ode, retro outfit, UL shirt, Louisiana flag. No worries about offending anyone with a Cajun Man. No generic look. No animal to maintain. Curious of how y'all think about this.
That's what we need, screen print that bad boy....if Parish Ink designed the gator, take it to them, great idea!

Wouldn't we want to use le marais?

The problem with 2 animals, specifically dogs (bulldog and/or Catahoula, Louis and Anna) is that although they can be bought at the same time, you are never sure if they are going to die close together. So you if Louis lives to be 12 and Anna dies at 6, then would have to replace the other one with a 6 year old rather than a small dog. Financially it is not the best option because theoretically you would want them to live as long as possible and be close to the same age the entire time they are together (full grownish). You would not want to purchase an older dog to match the older one you have if it is not going live out its full life with you.

I was in SGA back in the late 80's and early 90's and we discussed this exact thought. I wanted 2 bulldogs and was quickly informed why that would not work. Now the real option would be 2 Alligators because we have the availability to use Alligators here on campus or through the Wildlife preserves.

Let’s not get bogged down in minutia, or nothing will happen again . . .
