Thread: Mascot Talk Heating Up!

    Default Mascot Talk Heating Up!

    Thoughts on Albineaux "Al" Boudreaux?
We think it solves plenty of our mascot problems. Classic, Cypress Lake ode, retro outfit, UL shirt, Louisiana flag. No worries about offending anyone with a Cajun Man. No generic look. No animal to maintain. Curious of how y'all think about this.

This is absolutely 100% rock solid terrific on all angles. Have the suit tailored and ready to go for the next home game. We have done without for long enough to not let further negotiations concerning minute issues about this to have it sidelined for one more game.

Let’s all jump on board and make this happen . .

Sorry but that is the only school color an alligator naturally comes in.

We can call him Cypress. Or, we can have two of them, Louis and Anna. (thanks to Nick D for that idea)

I like it, I think we should have a live and a cartoon mascot on the sidelines. It does not need to be an albino (white) alligator, but that would be awesome if it were. I think the concept, being that we have the most unique name in college sports (Ragin' Cajuns) and then a unique actual mascot with an albino Alligator.

The other thing I would do is immediately I would copywrite "DA SWAMP or LE SWAMP". Not The Swamp, but Le or Da Swamp for Cajun Field. Florida can then have "THE SWAMP" and we would take "LE or DA SWAMP"

Le would be for the French reference and Da Swamp (for almost a Cajun French interoperation of the Le Swamp).

Turbine has been talking about this for years he proposed 2 gators Louis and Ana, and one would be a red gator and the the other a white gator I believe.

I know he has pics he was talking about this back in 2000.

Very fitting because we play in the Swamp!

Yes, however he never presented it with his hat ass backwards. Presentation . . .

Spoke to Russel Heim yesterday. He has one Cajun chicken costume left.

I think this would be moving in the right direction. yes I believe Da Swamp needs to be copyrighted along with all these designs.
I might have like the pepper if it was not so hideous.
I’m not either for or against a mascot, but if we are going to have one let’s let it be a one of a kind.
