I been saying it since the renovation discussion they need to do something in the NEZ. Glad they mention the festival idea as well.Have ffood trucks and vendors inside the stadium. Have a gumbo festival before the game .

But this be my idea for the NEZ. Could have TV’s playing other games. Idk if that unethical.

Then the idea to make the 50 better on the visitor side even if they just put it on the visitor side

I definitely think soccer stadiums have been ahead of their time for sizing and amenities. College football stadiums will catch up soon when people realize these attendance trends are here to stay. Love the pics.

How hard would it be to put red chair back seats on the visitor side as well? Get rid of the bench seats, but it would have to have that over hang to.

We could just do it for the 50 yrd line section.

Need to take what works and incorporate it into our renovation

I remember a post years ago by resident engineering guru Helmut that said the visitor side was out of code and installing chairbacks would be impossible without demo'ing and redoing.

Not sure if bench-back railings would be feasible instead.

Because the endzone seats are better then the seats on the 50. I remember something like that to. It couldn’t be that much to put a back to all these bench seats if that is the case.

Now would that be the case if we did put an overhang on the visitor side ? Idk if it was out of code ?

I wouldn’t do one without the other.

I don't think an overhang on the visitor's side would help much with the orientation of the stadium in regard to sun positioning.

Sun will be overhead due south from noon until it eventually sets in the W behind the upper deck.

Yep, rows are too close together per current code. They are grandfathered in, but if we make modification, we have to bring them up to code…which means redoing the row space, which basically means redoing the whole thing.

It would almost have to be this way. This would probably cost a pretty penny, but we could do something like this, wouldnt have to be concrete either

The over hang would probably have to to be pretty fat.

Personally think it would be a huge waste of money to try and chair back the 50 yard line seats on the visitor side. Regardless of how nice the new seats would be, people will avoid sitting in the sun for 4 hours like the plague. Also, our softie fans won't like sitting by the students if they can't handle a few people standing up in front of them on the home side.

The NEZ bar idea is exactly what we were talking about in the episode. Some of you have relationships with the architect firm that was hired by the university. Some of you are passionate enough to contact them regardless and send pictures of this. Let's start planting some seeds. If we want people in the gates, we have to make common sense changes that will get people in AND keep people in.

I think that ACSW blurb specifically mentioning redesigning the west side should cause us to temper our stadium-wide desires.

I wouldn’t think it would cost that much compared to the total renovation, and it would make a huge impact on quality and life for people who are just going to be with friends or family or going to just hang out.

I personally think you could use it for tailgating as well.
