we did a below average job promoting the sbc game in lafayette and we have done an even worse job celebrating it. these things should not have to be explained. use anything and everything you can to bring attention to the success we are having right now. it is crazy that we regular people have to explain this to people who get paid to do it
Appreciate all of the feedback everyone. Please continue to drop ideas for improvement here.
But I wanted to say, when we drew up the rundown for this week, we really wanted to do a segment to possibly galvanize the Houston Ragin Cajun support base. It is CRIMINAL how under served our Alumni are in that area. There are so many Cajuns in North, NW, South Houston & Katy. Now even Conroe seems to have some Cajun flare, more than in the past. How we haven't tapped that base is beyond me. At one time, there was a vibrant following. It was about as Cajun Crazy as anywhere outside of Lafayette. Thanks to some of our friends and wonderful Alumni, who cultivated the interest. But it has been neglected since those folks have gotten older and couldn't keep up with the demands.
We need someone, or a group of someones, that care enough to bring this back. The cookouts, the crawfish boils, the golf tournaments, the event nights. There is an appetite for it. We need to get back to taking care of our base in Houston. WHY do we make it so hard to support this program when the answers are so easy...
I swear, at EVERY turn, this University passes on opportunities to make money and promote the program. The literally can't stop stepping on their own d___ks. It's infuriating.

My sentiments exactly. I've been wondering why I'm mad and focusing on this stuff as opposed to enjoying 15 in a row. Couldn't put it into words, really. I think wanting everything surrounding the university to be the best version of itself is on point. The teams are winning. Who would have thought that that would have been the easy part?
another solution. cut the rv spot prices in half until the parking lot fills up and you have a waiting list again. then increase the cost a little at a time until youre back to where you are now. prob would not take 2 seasons
1. Marketing locally and nationally. We have the longest winning streak in the nation. Anyone heard it anywhere else besides Lafayette? The conference office needs to be on board...yes, I get the big victories this year should be forefront, but 15 in a row in this day and age. If the local television stations get all moist over FIL, why not Cajun Football? That includes gear. I was "gifted" things with the extra L or Lafayette on it. Burn it at tailgate, preferably next to the AA set up. Yeah, that is out the box, but a strong statement.
2. Fans. Especially students. Let them take over west side mid field seating. I remember sweating over there decades ago, let them get some air. They are tomorrow fans with disposable income. But clean up the message/music. Was in a discussion with other men regarding what we expose our children to. Guess what came up? Yup, CF music and one of the men brought up what his preteen children heard AND understood. Teachable moment. And he is a fan. Clean it up. It's guys like him that love our university, graduated from here, season ticket holder, and I would not blame him one bit if he never came back. If a 10 year old knows its wrong to say in public, well, there you go.
3. Food truck is an excellent idea, but would need to be unique not to compete against existing vendors.
