Thread: No more Chitamatcha Open.

UL Golf No more Chitamatcha Open.

Just reported on KATC. The PGA sanctioned event has been dropped from the tour. No reason given. Haven't been able to find out why. So many great organizations have been helped from the proceeds of this event. This has been happening since 1992. What a shame and a loss. The tournament was always done with utmost professionalism with a Acadiana / Cajun flare.

I wonder if some of the sponsors of the golf tournament would consider shifting their sponsorships and finances to the Cajuns?

    Just heard Danny on 103.7.
Said they will try their best to keep it going if it makes sense. Said LA Open was started without the PGA, so will take it day by day to see if they can make it happen without the PGA again.

.I will see what I might be able to find out from my S in L…He puts on PGA tourneys for a living with his company……I remember that some players from the Puerto Rico Tourney played right after in our Tourney!

Other issue the Open had was it was 500K behind on base prize money. It's my understanding Lake Charles is losing their stop also.
