Cajuns at Rice attendance?

I live about 10 mins from Rice. Will probably be my only chance to catch the Cajuns live this year. I'll be there and currently trying to recruit as many Lafayette folks as I can to come with me.

Rice had 18K for their home opener against McNeese last week. Their numbers will go down but we'll bring 3-4K-ish, I hope. I'd say 18,137

They drew that many? Wow.

I was going to predict around 12k. Rice doesn’t seem to get much of a following, and the three baseball games I’ve attended in Houston, Cajun fans outnumbered Rice fans easily 5 to 1. Even more possibly.

FYI. Houston hosts Kansas at 3:00 Saturday. Houston’s stadium is 3.5 miles from rice as the crow flies.
