There's very little at stake for UL or the fans in these games.

The fix seems obvious to me -- they should be playing in a tighter regional conference against teams that those last 10-15k fans have actually heard of. LA Tech, Tulane, USM, etc.

Of course that won't happen and we'll continue to wonder why nobody wants to spend $80 to go see New Mexico St at Cajun Field
Nah, it's not. I'd concede that ticket master fees may keep some potential fans from buying. But if you are able to get to the box office you can get a family of 4 in for under $80 to a 3-4 hour event. Stuff costs so much now, you spend that same amount going eat out at a chain restaurant with your family.

Our tickets are not expensive at all compared to other programs. I agree that there is not much at stake regarding the opponents we bring in or what bowl or playoff we can potentially see.

    Look around.

Playoff games anywhere are always better-attended than normal games. A game that can “tip the scale” in any way will draw a crowd. Eastern Michigans and Marshalls in the NOLA bowl won’t cut it.

How was it that we managed to get 40k people in the dome for the first ever NOLA bowl in 2011? That game was a “tip the scale” game. It was a level we had never surpassed before. Keep the bowls coming and keep providing us the chance to see our team “tip the scale” and fans will show up.

You sure know how to motivate.
Tell me it's not true then. Tell me that the student section is supportive and tell me my eyes were seeing 15K people Saturday night.

Bring in for our out of conference games P5's and BEAT them. Then everyone will want to come see the team that just beat the P5 school, no matter if we are playing Comeaux High.

If we bring them in and lose, then attendance will drop even more. Key word is beat.

I use to think another possible way was to go to the P5's and beat them in their own stadium. Then, everyone would want to see the team who beat the P5 school in their own stadium. HOWEVER, I don't think even that would work anymore.

Seriously have no real clue on how to increase attendance and sustain it. The people who didn't come and watch the Billy Napier era really missed out. I'm hoping Coach Des will be able to keep the momentum going, but people are just looking for excuses not to go...too hot, too wet, too cold, not playing a quality opponent, ..... We got "those" fans once during Hudspeth era. They are not coming back.

What really makes me sick is the students that graduated here and give their money and support to LaSU. Makes my skin crawl.

They have the Sonic Cup Shuffle! lol

According to ESPN, the Necksters had more for their game against SFA.

Not in the second half and the self induced reasons have been well documented.

    No doubt.

They fudged up for the rain affected Southeastern game, and had to balance the books with the Eastern Michigan game.

People are looking to for excuses to not spend $80 to bring a family of 4 to a hot/wet/cold game against a team they've never heard of...

We had those fans during the Hudspeth era and we immediately started chirping about building a 60k fan football stadium, and raised the price of every single aspect of the gameday experience.

They managed to chase off the long-time tailgaters, the young families buying 'Family 4 Packs' for $40, while at the same time the Sunbelt was gutted and replaced by a bunch of teams that NOBODY gave a crap about.

The Sun Belt is building its way back up, and hopefully they can poach a couple more regional AAC teams after they get gutted by the Big 12. The fastest way to get more people is to improve our opponents

As far as students.... they want to get drunk and act stupid at a football game. You want students? Tell the cops to look the other way and stop writing MIP's for some kid drinking rot gut liquor out of fake binoculars
