Why is it the downtown business owners problem that the public sector can't operate efficiently & effectively?
Why should the business owners front more costs & resources to something that is not an issue at all for them at the moment?
It's small time to make them change their successful ways b/c the government run entity can't do their job right.
Who sets up Festival Des Acadien, or Festival Internarional? Maggard and Savoie, who ever handles logistics ans hospitality for game day, needs to be making phone calls and sending out emails to these individuals.
That is not exactly correct.
The position which was taken was what good will it be to get more people in the stadium if you don’t also fix what is causing them not to come in the first place.

That's the only way to get the Acadiana "socialites" in the gates. These people unfortunately have to attach their identify to popular beliefs.
Troy. App State. Marshall. What do they have in common? When they lace it up, they typically compete every game, no matter the opponent. We can't historically say that.
Simple.
The more people that Louisiana draws to events (especially from out of town) the more businesses benifit. The stronger the culture of local homebodies getting out and about, the more businesses benifit.
Before and after games.
Businesses taking the bull by the horns is another no brainer.
They need to make sure that downtown is the post game magnet.

“We’re not taking it over,” said (Scott) Feehan. “It is still (their) event. We have a staff that knows how to organize, promote and put these events on.
“They’re hiring us to facilitate at lot of the things they know we can do well. By utilizing our staff, they can focus their resources on a lot of the other things they need to be focused on downtown. I think it’s going to be good.”
