That’s not how the law of supply and demand works. Price has to decrease if demand is not there. You can upgrade the experience and maybe demand will follow. Butts in the seats are what is needed. The problem is how you do it. Shrinking supply won’t.

We canabalized tailgaiting for some RCAF funds. It was the party that drew our crowds, and we got some of them in the gates. Then when Hud won more came in. Then we wrecked tailgaiting right when Hud cratered. We need to make a concerted effort to make UL tailgating a party event again and then work on attracting folks to come in. We should be doing that now, at all costs. Fix tailgaiting, new stadium update and keep winning.
Tailgating became substantially more expensive with way too many rules and limitations and many just said to hell with it. I know about 5 groups that went all out which meant they attracted many friends, business acquaintances and friends of their kids and all 5 of them called it shut down at game time and during game and encouraged all that they entertained to attend the game. Unfortunate that many like those are no longer involved.
If the Krew-De-Chew shut it down, you know things got messed up.
Just go to supply and demand? Is tailgating full every home game? No? Well then make cheaper spots.
Our previous spot accounted for 30 or so people that actively participated in said tailgate week in and week out. With additional family and friends added over the past few years of not tailgating, that would probably put that number at over 50 for us. The spot was let go 2 years ago due to price, scheduling (weekday games) and general inconveniences (changes in parking, inconsistent gate openings, etc.) over the years.
