Can the RCAF even take part in any NIL deals being associated with the universtiy the way it presently sits?

Shame on you. The Ragin' Cajun Cheeseburger is at Sonic, not Dairy Queen.

Sonic don't offer it in the area we were in.

Look no further than our AA. I'm been very disappointed with the AA...I went to the capital in '84...made personal phone calls, etc for the name fight. And those folks just love them some "at Lafayette" today. An anchor holding the university back name wise.
So the AA is a 501C3 corporation affiliated with the university (like the RCAF and the Midwinter Fair and Rodeo association) whose registered name with the state is University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association. We are looking at different branding but the official name will not be changed and will always be referenced.

They are a 501C3 corporation affiliated with the university and the official name filed with the state is University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association. So there you go.

Forever stuck…won’t even reference the “official name” once in an article and shorten thereafter. Who are they scared of? I’m not going to waste my time looking at other state universities AAs, would bet similar wording. We’re “fossilizing” the name in more ways than one.

I am fine with doing a national search for the RCAF Director position. We need a mature person with intelligence and vision, who can sell our athletic department and grow our foundation. This person doesn’t have to be local, but must have effective communication skills. This is a crucial hire that needs to happen now. We need money for a new football stadium done right, baseball locker room, and to remain competitive in the growing SBC.

Too bad Hud has the reputation of being such a poon hound. Dude would probably kill it at the RCAF position. One thing he knew how to do was get donations and put butts in the seats.

So what does being a poon hound have to do with being a great RCAF director? It's not like he's going to coach. I wonder if he would consider the job though. That is a really good thought.

Frick that national stuff. We need a guy form the South who understands the culture here.
